These books are pretty cool.  It’s basically a personalized book in which the child (or children) get to tell someone what they like most about them.  If you are interested in these, it will make a lot more sense if you click the “ROCKS!” tab at the top to see what the book looks like.

Especially for Athlete’s Books
Books for children of runners, cyclists, and triathletes

My husband and I are runners, cyclist, and triathletes…seems we cannot get enough of endurance sports.   These books are titled:  My Mom’s/Dad’s a Runner/Cyclist/Triathlete.  They are fun and colorful books for the kids, but I really think that the adults will like them, too.  I have tried to touch on the important parts (and funny parts) of each of those sports.  Check out the “Especially for Athletes” tab at the top, to see these.

About the Books (in general)

God Gave Me Books was an idea I had after giving birth to our second child.  He popped out as a red head (which was a surprise).  My sister-in-law (who is a red head) had mentioned how she did not like her hair growing up because of it’s color.  That made me start thinking about my little red-headed sweetie.  I thought that if I could remind him that God gave him that red hair, just like God gave us the moon and stars, it would be a positive way to approach his red hair, and as I began to think about it, our lives in general.

I have loved every minute that I have spent drawing all of these various pictures so that you could make your own personalized book to give to a child that you love.  I certainly have not thought of everything, but I hope that you will be able to find 10 images so that we can make a book for you that will make the child you have in mind feel extra special.  The back of each book has the following on it:

“This book was made with loving hands and a joyful heart especially for….your child’s name here.”

I really mean that.  I put these books together with my own hands, and I personally make sure that each one is perfect before I send it off to it’s new home.  It’s just me doing this (my husband, of course, has been incredibly supportive).  These books are made in my home by me.  It takes some time, but I really do go about it with a joyful heart.

I hope you will come to enjoy the book that you have chosen for the child you had in mind as much as I will have enjoyed creating it.

From there I started on the Athlete’s books.  My husband and I are avid endurance athletes, and our kids love it, too.  They talk about triathlons, cycling, and running races.  We try to instill in them the importance of a healthy lifestyle.  They LOVE these books.  It reminds them of what we do out there, and it inspires them to try some new things, too.  Our boys (ages 6 and have done kids’ triathlons, and our little girl is chomping at the bit (she’s only 4).

The ROCKS! books came about because a friend (a best friend…you know who you are) mentioned her daughter would like to make a God Gave Me book for her teacher.  Well, I really didn’t have a format for that, but it got me thinking about gifts for others FROM children.  These books are a simple way for a little one to tell someone how much they love them and/or why they “rock”!
